一个名为希尔兹·格林（Shields Green）的奴隶，因儿子被白人拷打而报仇杀人，不得不向北方逃亡。辗转之下遇到了弗雷德里克·道格拉斯（Frederick Douglass）和约翰·布朗（John Brown）。并在1859年追随约翰·布朗（John Brown）发动了哈珀斯渡口起义，打响了南北战争的前奏。本片根据希尔兹·格林(Shields Green)的真实事迹创作。。Atka Natas is a secret agent from the oppressive regime of Liquidatzia.
