This upset's the natural order of the police/criminal relationship and the police and the crooks join forces to catch the IPOs (Impersonating Police Officers), including an armored car robbery in w...。巴黎医院中，滤过性病原体学者劳伦斯被一种不知名的病毒感染，即使她的前夫，著名的生物学家也无法解释。不久之后，发现该病毒与老鼠有关，与此同时由于清理垃圾工人的罢工，城市一时间老鼠泛滥。劳伦斯异常的恐惧，而当她的女儿被老鼠咬伤后犯病，她的怀疑得到了确定。一场与时间的竞赛开始了。劳伦斯一方面要抓紧时间研究抵抗病菌的药物，一方面要催促政府立即采取行动。亚力克斯的父亲也是受害者之一，亚力克斯所饲养的宠物小白鼠埃尔顿也被咬伤了，但它并没有传染上病毒。成千上万的老鼠涌入城市，劳伦斯发现他们所饲养的两只老鼠已经基因变异，感染了病毒，并跑了出去。而负责这项实验的负责人正是劳伦斯的前夫…。
