A stately home robbery takes an evil turn one night when a gang of young thieves are caught by the owners of the house and then hunted across the estate for the proprietor's entertainment。罗伯特·戴维依饰演纽约市的警官柯代尔，原是警界精英，但过分忠直却处处树敌，终于被敌人诬陷下狱。他在狱中受尽折磨，心性大变，复仇之火使他变成极尽毁灭能事的刽子手，甚至在出狱后仍要重回监狱去对付那些欺负过他的仇人。。
