中国自十九世纪中叶，被外国强列的坚船利炮打开闭关自守的大门后，逐渐沦为成半殖民地半封建社会。期间无数有名或无名的英雄好汉舍生忘死，甚至牺牲性命，或是除暴安良，或是抗敌救国，演绎出各种英雄事迹。。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called.
