At the request of their daughter, a separated couple has to live together for thirty days after the ex-wife comes from a long psychiatric hospitalization.。薛海是公路站副站长，他临危受命到一个贫困的山村(酱子村)做第一书记，因为自己的兢兢业业受到了当地老百姓的爱戴。然而“村村通”公路施工队老板， 认为薛海严格把关道路质量，导致自己无利可图，便心生一计，以泼脏水的手段害的薛海被停了职。后来幸亏得上级部门的明察秋毫，最终还了薛海同志的清白，同时，酱子村的所有村民们也在请愿书上签了字，并按上了红手印，希望他们可亲可敬的薛书记还能回到村里工作! 如愿再次回到酱子村的薛书记，依旧是忘我的工作，可是天有不测风云，他因劳累过度，最终倒在了工作岗位上，大家痛心疾首，他们纷纷来到追悼会，怀着悲痛的心情送薛书记最后一程。。From an abandoned apartment in the suburbs of Belgrade, a persevering reminiscence of nightmares mix with the memories from childhood. A grandfather's video recorder, pets, gatherings and images from the uncertain years of 1998 and 1999 reveal a common life embraced by a historical event.。
