剧情简介

马修饰演报社的新闻版主编，莱蒙是他手下的王牌记者。这一天莱蒙正要离开芝加哥到纽约去跟他的女友展开新生活，但临时发生了一宗政治丑闻，马修用尽各种方法来挽留莱蒙采访这段新闻。整个情节就在两人的拉扯之间来表现报界中人对突发新闻的停不了的热爱心理，由此延伸了互相勾心斗角、你躲我寻的游戏。。售货员方秀春送货下乡，路遇从未见过面的婆婆来买货。通过交谈，得知婆婆为办喜事买了许多东西，还准备大吃大喝一场。方秀春针对婆婆这种思想，用丰收不忘节约的道理，说服她自觉推掉了货物。婆婆也知道这个售货员就是自己未过门的儿媳。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
