The competition is hosted by Will Shortz during The American Crossword Pu...。抗日战争时期，有个山村放牛娃叫王二小。二小九岁时，目睹了父母和乡亲们惨死在日本侵略者屠刀下的情景，心中对日寇充满了仇恨。一次，二小和姑姑兰英受命分头给八路军送信，途中二小被抓却机智地逃了出来，负伤的兰英告诉他村里出了叛徒，兰英要二小将消息告诉八路军政委，二小历尽艰辛完成了送信的任务。回到村里却发现兰英已经被敌人抓住了，为了救二小的小张也牺牲了，二小十分悲痛，为了掩护乡亲和八路军伤员安全转移，二小用歌声牵住了敌人，把敌人引进埋伏圈，自己却献出了年仅九岁的生命。。
