Subjects of Desire is a thought provoking film that examines the cultural shift in beauty standards towards embracing (or appropriating) Black aesthetics and features, deconstructing what we understand about race and the power behind beauty.。A documentary that explores the rise and fall of the late Roger Ailes from his early media influence on the Nixon presidency to his controversial leadership at Fox News.。解放前，张根宝随母亲来到浙东的一个小镇，随老裁缝刘金发学艺。刘金发有个女儿叫凤英，师徒在一起过着平静的生活，几年后，根宝和凤英都长大了，老裁缝决定把女儿许配给张根宝。不料恶霸地主赵老爷欲强占凤英为妾，赵老爷与国民党密谋，抓张根宝为壮丁。为救根宝，刘金发反求赵老爷搭救，赵老爷便称机要挟凤英做小妾，凤英被迫同意。赵老爷娶妾之日，根宝在桥夫王大毛的帮助下，半路携凤英逃走。赵老爷闻讯，勾结国民党将刘裁缝和王大毛押入狱中。此时正面临解放，赵老爷便匆忙逃命，并许以金钱，嘱刘裁缝代为保管。小镇解放后，刘裁缝欲用赵老爷留下的这笔钱为女儿和根宝置办婚事，但在凤英和根宝的动员下，最后将赵老爷的财物悉数上交政府，并受到政府嘉奖。。
