Be it for money, as is the case of Italo - president of the Sporting team who bet everything he has left on the final result| be it for honor, as is the case of coach Bulla - who has never won a title his whole life| be ...。健太自幼立志成为一名神奇宝贝训练家，带着火暴兽，他从若叶镇出发，踏上了冒险的旅途。在神奇宝贝中心，健太遇见了曾经青梅竹马的玩伴玛丽娜，两人结伴而行。贪婪的火箭队想要得到自由自在生活在森林里的野生电气系神奇宝贝，他们设计了一种特殊的捕捉装置，能够将电气系神奇宝贝发出的电流无效化，有此神器在手，神奇宝贝们的灾难降临了。 就在事态的发展即将失去控制之时，传说中电气系神奇宝贝的守护神雷公献出了真身，然而就连强大的雷公也不敌火箭队的武器，事态的发展即将失去控制。就在此时，健太和玛丽娜挺身而出同火箭队展开了对抗。。
